Hope dell'Aridocoltura Salento Lecce

Hope dell'Aridocoltura Salento Lecce

To understand what is meant by climate change if we think of the rain that is normally distributed throughout the year and only exceptionally for a period long enough it does not rain, we must define what the name of drought. If the lack of rainfall is repeated over the years we are no longer faced with an exceptional event but we can certainly say that it is climate change.

In the light of this definition we can say with certainty that the climate is changing in light of the findings of research by Prof. Lionello University of Salento, which states: "The set of observations and numerical simulations, and suggests implementing a transition to a substantially warmer climate and marginally drier which will continue in the coming decades. It is likely that different climatic conditions determine the criticality

in agricultural production (and in other sectors of the economy and the environment) "

This change determines the need for adaptation. Agriculture can play multiple roles with respect to climate change mitigation in the field.

So the potential policies to climate change that are going in the direction of less precipitation and to desertification, are mainly to adapt, so as to take in crops and cultivation techniques that aridocoltura consumanoi less water. The synergies that can be activated on agriculture which, of course, interacts with the water and energy resources.

The climate change for us and determine the consequences that are to be ascribed to a depletion of water resources and to deal with this situation there is a need for an adaptation that is synthetically represented by the return ALL'ARIDOCOLTURA.

Moreover, this cultivation technique is familiar to Salento and after Land Reform and the great works of water supply from the Basilicata has been put in place irrigated agriculture.

RELAXING instead concerns those processes that substances entering the environment contribute to determining climate change. The greenhouse effect is one of these consequences that agriculture contributes to specifically determine the emission of the livestock sector. In addition, agriculture can also lead to a mitigation of CO2 emissions with CO2 sequestration by forestry.

This action can mitigate the emissions in animal husbandry through their reduction.

In the field of agriculture, we know that helps with the share of bioenergy, which we hear may even be increased. But you know that when you destroy a hectare of forest in Southeast Asia to plant palm trees from which to extract the oil that we burn to produce energy then it takes 423 years to quell'ettaro forest recovers?

This is another example of the need for government coordination to achieve an absolute ban on construction of power plants fired with biomass European palm oil imports.

To plant the crops needed to produce that oil palm in some areas of Southeast Asia have been culled enormous extensions of rain forest that is our best ally in absorbing carbon dioxide from the air. It 'clear that palm oil is not only in biomass power stations, in fact most are destined to be fat for the food industry, but as the biomass power stations have been presented as the solution to prevent climate change, we are sure that oil is central to an effective weapon to protect the climate? 423 years are not very many that we have to rebuild something?

Some studies have shown a tendency for the water resource is a decrease of 50% in 2070. The expected impact concerns in Europe Southern Europe where it is expected a decrease in precipitation (rainfall and therefore water) and a rise in temperature as confirmed by the studies of Prof. Lionello. This situation is not expected in Northern Europe.

That fact is a source of risk and opportunity. It must take into account the typical, or combinations of soil - with which to assess climate risks and opportunities for, and entirely reasonable to say that according to this reduction in water availability there will be a reduction in resources and increased conflicts over water .

That said, there is to consider possible solutions to the problem of the probable reduction of water resources. There is a need for integrated water management in view of climate change. The vulnerability is reduced with water conservation if we do follow the 50% reduction of the water resource savings of 50% of that resource we will have solved the problem. Most importantly, we must abandon the perspective of crisis management and move to a risk management strategy which is derived from the forecasts of risk that can be made.

There is a need to increase the resilience, the ability to adapt over the territory of the external stress from climate change. There is a menu of solutions, but also there is a need to create systems that are resistant to instability with actions or inaction of adaptation.

In conclusion that agriculture is a factor of adaptation and mitigation of climate change there is a need for the community to consider not only economic enterprise also a company that provide environmental services ECOSITEMICI thing I have written 'MORE' TIMES AND HOPE DEAL SOON IN A DEBATE WITH THE PROFESSOR. ANDRAN AT THE AGRICULTURAL TO MESH.
